Dear TMGC members

Welcome to Topstone Men’s Club. The 2013 Topstone Men’s Club season is finally here! What started off as a possible mild winter this year turned significantly different over the last few months. Now that the blizzard of 2013 is behind us we can get back to focusing on something else besides shoveling driveways.

I head back for my 12th year at Topstone and I am reminded of why I keep coming back year after year. I believe we have the best men’s club in the area. The executive board is committed to making the men’s club the best membership experience possible. We play on arguably one of the best courses in the area. And we have a great Pro Shop and green keeping crew that do everything they can to make your round the most enjoyable it can be.

We have another robust tournament schedule planned for this year. We expect to have over 70 tournaments this season. Both of our interclub matches are back this year and we fully plan to defend the title again against Rolling Meadows and Wintonbury. Our trophy tournaments and match play round out a variety of events that are capped off by our Green’s Keepers Revenge tournament. One of the most entertaining rounds you will play all year. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of these events.

The club remains in great shape financially. Last season we increased the weekly payouts to further reach as many members as possible. The board closely examines the budget each year to make sure our members get the most out of their membership dues. If our membership numbers remain similar to last season we expect to maintain payout levels and look for other opportunities to increase the value of your membership. As of the spring banquet we had over 225 members. We still have a little way to go and hopefully once we start seeing more grass than snow it will bring out some more members. Please spread the word about our club. We have room to expand our membership. I’m certain if you encourage someone to join our club they will not be disappointed and glad you did.
