Dear TMGC Members,

Welcome to the 2008 golf season at Topstone! We are eagerly anticipating our official opening day of March 15th. If you are a returning member, I welcome you back and will be happy to see some familiar faces approaching the shop on Saturday and Sunday mornings. To new members, I can safely say that you are joining one of the finest men’s clubs in the area. If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to contact me, as I am always willing to help.

Over the winter, Steve Barrett decided to move forward with his pursuit of a career in law enforcement. I wish him nothing but the best as he chases his dream to pull over as many TMGC members on Connecticut roads in the very near future! It was a pleasure having him on our staff last season, and I know he will succeed in anything he sets his mind to.

Erik Ritchie will join us this season, as he comes over from Tower Ridge Country Club. Erik is very excited to join Topstone and is equally enthusiastic about helping the TMGC community. Take some time to introduce yourself at the spring banquet or on the 1st tee this spring.

When you arrive at the club this spring, you will notice a new look for the clubhouse and pro shop. We installed new carpet throughout the entire building and also added some new wallpaper in the bar and dining room. The dining room has been closed off to be better suited for small parties, golf outings, or business meetings. The project was a success and adds a nice new touch to the building.

In the pro shop this year, you will see a lot of the merchandise that you have come to expect and maybe a few new items. I will have plenty of Sky Caddie SG5’s coming in for anyone looking to hop on the GPS wagon. I have had the pleasure of using the unit this winter and it is a homerun! I will still have the same great Footjoy outerwear selection, but I have added our logo to some of the line, which adds that extra value that you will only find at Topstone. Get ready for the most innovative 3-wheel pushcart you have ever seen. Clicgear will be featured in the shop this year and I am very excited about it. It is very light weight and folds down to only 24” in length to easily fit in the trunk of your car.
